I’m really excited about our group in Viral Marketing class having the Purchase Television Station as our marketing assignment. I honestly think it could be the most viral because we’ll be using mostly video and the internet to distribute any upcoming info or advertisements. It would be funny if the videos we distribute online for a college campus t.v. station went viral and people actually tried tuning in the shows outside of Purchase.
We all seem to be interested in film or filmmaking and I’m thinking that will probably translate into a lot of serious, but creative effort. We’ve also discussed crashign a show or two, which I think would be hysterical.
Our main project and marketing strategy is probably going to be for the PTV awards show at the end of the semester. I think that’s perfect for us, because if you look at the big network awards shows, NBC, MTV, VH1, they all use several different ways to market the show, like nonsensical videos, funny ads, celebrity promotion, and this can all be done or parodied by us for PTV.
Overall, I’m excited and I think our group’s gonna be kick-ass.
